Mint jeans are one of my favorite items. Today I paired them with a blue top and denim jacket, with a cute pair of leopard sandals. The chevron necklace and tote complete the look from the Spring Capsule Wardrobe.
Spring is definitely a trigger for cleaning out the house around here! I don’t like clutter. We keep out house pretty well organized, but somehow we still amass items we don’t need throughout the year. Some of the big focuses I have in the spring clean-out include:
Kids clothes – my boys both have spring birthdays and they consistently have gone up to a new size in the spring of every year so far. Once Cade outgrows something, it is time for it to go. When Aiden outgrows his clothes, I pack them away for a few years until Cade is ready for them. This spring I spent a surprising amount of time going through the kids’ socks – how did they get so many??
Toys – With the boys’ birthdays coming up, we need to think ahead to what needs to go to make room for the gifts they may receive. Both boys have been cleaning out their toys to sell as well, because I they want to buy some new Transformers.
Closets – I like to go through our storage spaces each spring to see what may have accumulated that we no longer need. We have a closet in our entry, a linen closet in the hall, two linen closets in our master bath, and a large closet in our laundry room. I filled a garbage bag full of shoes this spring that need to find a new home.
I want to add some hooks to the that closet. Then that blue bag can hang on the hooks and free up space on the shelves for the boys boots to fit better. I’m thinking of something like this:
