Thanksgiving is just a few days away and I’m looking forward to extra time with my family. We are spending the holiday with my parents and sister this year. I haven’t been able to see them very much this year so I’m really excited.
Along with lots of turkey and family time, I plan to complete most of my holiday shopping. This week I thought I’d take a little departure from the capsule outfit posts and instead share some holiday gift guides based on my shopping plan for my family, starting with gift ideas from my current capsule wardrobe.
Let’s start with some of the accessories I’ve been wearing a lot this fall. I have to say my favorites so far are these two infinity scarves:
I love these scarves because they add a pop of fun to my outfits, and also because they keep me warm on the cooler fall days. Here are a few of the ways I’ve worn them so far this fall:
Striped t-shirt // Quilted vest // Burgundy Jeans // Leopard Scarf // Tory Burch Flats // Tory Burch Bag
Chambray shirt (similar option) // Herringbone vest // Black skinny Jeans // Plaid scarf // Black wedge booties (similar)
Chambray Shirt (another option) // Quilted Vest // Leopard Scarf // Burgundy Jeans // Ballet Flats // Purse
Striped Long Sleeve T-Shirt // Chambray Shirt (another option) // Plaid Scarf // Olive Jeans // Booties // Purse
Jewelry is another easy gift that my family loves. I’ve been enjoying this necklace, and these earrings are also so fun:
The women in my family are all about shoes – even though I love my capsule wardrobe, I have a LOT of shoes. I think it is genetic…
These are some of the ones I’ve been wearing a lot:
I’ve gotten so many compliments on these wedge boots this fall – here are a few ways I’ve worn them:
Long Sleeve Striped t-shirt // Quilted Vest // Skinny Blue Jeans // Leopard Scarf // Tall Wedge Boots
Polka Dot Sweater // Chambray Shirt // Olive Jeans // Wedge Boots // Necklace
Sequin Sleeve Top // Black Jeans // Quilted Vest // Wedge Boots // Purse
The Tory Burch flats are pricey, but they make these outfits look great:
Polka Dot Sweater // Chambray Shirt // Ankle Pants // Tory Burch Flats // Purse // Necklace
Striped Shirt // Quilted Vest // Leopard Scarf // Olive Jeans // Tory Burch Flats // Purse
Booties have been popular for a few years now, and I think they are going to be around for a while.
Bell Sleeve T-Shirt // Skinny Jeans // Scarf // Booties
Red Long Sleeve tee // Chambray Shirt (another option) // Skinny Jeans // Peep Toe Booties (similar, similar) // Cognac Tote // Bar Necklace
Sequin Sleeve Top // Skinny Jeans // Purse // Booties
Gingham Top // Skinny Jeans // Purse // Booties
Striped Shirt // Burgundy Jeans // Denim Jacket // Necklace // Purse // Booties
I also recommend purchasing one of these versatile pieces of clothing as a gift.
I got my herringbone vest from Stitch Fix a few years ago. If you haven’t tried Stitch Fix, now (thru the end of November) is a great time to test it because you can get your first styling fee waived and try Stitch Fix risk free!
Each is versatile and can be worn in many ways.
If you have a purse fan in your family, this is the one to give:
